A Note on the Adoption Proceedings

As you must all know, the $35 has gone to the good folks at savethemanatee.org and we should be receiving our packet and a special XL T-shirt which I will don to honor the occasion when it arrives.

Several of you have wondered which one of the endangered sea cows we adopted. Well, as King, I selected Howie of the Blue Springs Clan. I chose this particular sea cow because he seems to have the qualities we esteem here in WilkeWorld, mainly, he likes to tip over the researchers' boat. You gotta love that in a mascot.

Of course, we will be anxiously awaiting Shaleen's naming of the sea cow with baited breath. We liked some of her initial suggestions and hope that she will choose wisely. Of course, the sea cow will have free reign in the moat and will host the Super Bowl every January. Your work is cut out for you Shaleen.

Well, that pretty much catches you up on everything. Enjoy your evening, citizens.

I realize that one of your loyal subjects will have the responsibility of naming the mascot, but I will use my powers to convince them to use the name of "BUBBA" as the official one. I have consulted all of the Harry Potter books, I have looked in the dictionary, I have consulted other Wizards and "BUBBA" is the one that has been suggested. I realize that sea cow is more of a femine sounding word, so suggestion of Ariel, lady of the sea, or Helen would suit some of your femine subjects better, but Man A Tee is more masculine, and BUBBA is right up there as being suitable. I can hear it now, "We are the BUBBA's, mighty, mighty BUBBA's, everywhere we go, people want to know who we are, we are the BUBBA's. Oh I am so pleased.

When my wife and I vacationed at Blue Springs a year ago, I think we actually saw Howie in the flesh! A fine choice for WilkeWorkd to adopt.

Hope you post a photo of you in the tee shirt.

Now, I just need to get rid of that Wizard. Hahahahahahaha (evil laugh).

Good choice in Howie, he sounded like he'd fit right in at WilkeWorld.

It is so awesome that you chose one from Blue Springs!! When I was little, we lived out in that area and would go and swim there all the time in the summer and in the winter we'd go to see all the manatees and gar and other life forms... ^_^ Ok, now for the name...it's coming, it's coming...but there is so much to take into consideration, especially since the Wizard has now added his own suggestions. Hmmmm, think think think...

Bubba! We have a cat named Bubba. Sorry Wizard but that name has already been taken. Ha Ha. Sounds like a Lousiana sea cow to me.

How about Flipper....no that won't work....Oscar..ummmm...I don't know. I guess I better think about this before I put in my offical nomination.

Take your vitamins, we don't want the wizzard killing off the sickly King and remember to stay away from the pillow.

I want the citizens of WilkeWorld to know that I will not be making any post for approximately 10 days. I am going to The Outer Bank in N. Carolina with my daughter and her family. I suppose the reason I feel compelled to explain this is that, some on this blog, will think, that Bubba was not accepted and that I had my feelings hurt, not true. I expect that the queen and others will keep the king in check. So I will get into my speedos (Shoes remember) and walk the shore and read a good book.
